Jannie Ho is an illustrator and author of many children’s books. In addition, she has created art for many projects beyond the book publishing industry.
In this webinar, Jannie will discuss
– how she got started as a children’s book illustrator;
– creating your best portfolio for children’s books;
– diversifying your portfolio to cater to related children’s markets such as magazines, toys and stationery.
And, as a former art director, she will discuss
– best practices;
– do’s and don’ts;
– submissions;
– promotional materials;
– pricing.
The session will wrap up with a short Q+A.
Jannie Ho is the author/illustrator of Bear and Chicken, published by Running Press Kids/Hachette. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Philadephia, Jannie received her BFA in illustration from Parsons School of Design in New York. After graduating, she worked as an in-house graphic designer at Nickelodeon Magazine, Scholastic, and an art director at TIME Magazine for Kids. Jannie is an illustrator of numerous board and novelty books, including the Tiny Tabs and ABC series published by Candlewick Press/Nosy Crow.
